Your Partner in Mental Wellness

A Holistic Approach

As a licensed therapist with deep roots in both secular and Chassidic traditions, I offer a unique approach to therapy that respects and integrates your personal and spiritual values. Whether you’re facing eating disorders, anxiety, a struggling teenager, or navigating complex life challenges, my goal is to support you in achieving balance and wellbeing in a safe, understanding environment.

SPECIALTIES

Healing from an Eating Disorder

Struggling with an eating disorder can be isolating and overwhelming, often leading to anxiety and secrecy that make it hard to seek help. Compulsive behaviors, such as bingeing and purging, body image concerns, and self-harm can be hidden, making it difficult for others to recognize the severity of the condition. And the fear of stigma can prevent a person from reaching out until the situation becomes intolerable.

Understanding that eating disorders are often the result of a complex mix of trauma, pressure, stress, and genetics is crucial for effective treatment. I’m here to support you with a compassionate and whole-person approach. I’ll help you understand the disorder and explore appropriate treatment options, including residential and intensive outpatient programs when needed, helping you navigate potential kosher and Shabbos concerns that may not be understood by others. Many therapists shy away from treating eating disorders due to their complexity and danger, but my awareness of the severe consequences of these disorders only strengthens my motivation to help clients recover. I believe in your recovery.

Being Yourself in the Yeshiva System

Bochurim often face challenges that impact their wellbeing, such as low self-esteem, emotional shutdown, or a lack of engagement with friends or learning. These struggles can manifest as diminished enthusiasm for daily activities, internet addiction, and social isolation. Issues like OCD and the feeling of being misunderstood within the yeshiva environment can further complicate their experiences. Many bochurim—or their parents—also fear that working on themselves might lead to being disconnected from the yeshiva system, even when they achieve personal growth and improved health.

My approach focuses on building up each individual while respecting the system they are part of. I integrate clinical expertise with a deep understanding of the yeshiva world to address these challenges effectively and I am committed to ensuring that personal growth and adherence to Chassidishkeit are not mutually exclusive. By involving family, parents, and discussing matters with their rav or mashpia, we create a supportive network that helps bochurim thrive within their community. My goal is to address compulsive and cultural elements without compromising their core values.
